"During a Saturday session we decided to take the group for a walk outside. As we approached the Brandywine River which flows behind the building where Dual School is held, one of the students spotted a great blue heron. The entire group was mesmerized and began to snap photos and tried to get closer and closer. It was one of those moments when we all realized how much we love the natural world and how it can fascinated us and hold our attention just as much (or more!) than today’s highly tech-driven world."
Through Joel’s desire to address vacant and abandoned properties in Wilmington, Delaware and with the help of Horn Entrepreneurship, he and his team have created a social impact real estate investing company called Wilminvest.
"My favorite moment of Dual School was attending a local elementary school with my Mentee, to engage a group of kindergarteners in an after school program designed to bring together multi-cultural children. It was beautiful to see young children proudly speaking multiple languages and engaging them in educational activities, particularly with todays political climate."

"My favorite moment of Dual School was seeing the students progress. They have become more knowledgeable of their project and more confident in themselves."
Sierra is a social entrepreneur who founded a nonprofit at age 10 called AutumnLeaf Fundraisers which has raised over $70,000 for local charities.
"My favorite Dual School moment was when I was able to connect students with people who changed the course of their project’s journey; for example: Michael with a Diamond Challenge partner, Noah with the manager of a Microsoft store, and Dorcas with community leaders."
My expertise and background come from a conglomerate of experiences. Like most professionals today I chose not stay on one path. Instead I set out on a journey through different industries that helped me fine tune my creative thinking and problem solving skills.
"My favorite moment was the day Nabiha and I spent out in the community interviewing people."
